The back rest is what makes the i29 an ergonomic chair. This is the full back assembly, with the split-back design, polished aluminium frame and Hood’s patented floating lumbar support. Use it to replace a damaged back, refresh a well-used chair or keep a spare for a busy office. Every part of the i29 can be removed and replaced, so a new back gives the chair a longer life and keeps it out of landfill. The back rest comes with all the bolts and fixings needed, so it’s ready to fit straight away.

The split back gives the upper and lower back separate support:

• Upper back: a 500 mm wide upper section, shaped for good thoracic support.
• Floating lumbar and pelvic support: the patented 440 mm lumbar section moves with you in dynamic mode. It supports the lower back all the time and keeps the pelvis correctly rotated.
• Height adjustment: release the two buttons on the back of the chair, move the back to suit the user’s height, and it locks in one of three positions.

The polished aluminium frame is strong and hard-wearing, with a premium finish to match the rest of the i29. Mesh gives good airflow and is easy to keep clean, which suits shared workspaces and 24/7 environments.
