The lifespan of a quality gaming and office chair depends on its construction, usage, and maintenance. A well-maintained ergonomic chair should last at least seven years. At Hood, we back our chairs with a 10-year warranty, so you can choose with confidence.

Our mesh, fabrics, and foam undergo rigorous safety and abrasion testing, exceeding UK standards. You can find out more on each chair and swatch page, but in short: All of our Foam, Mesh & Hood Fabric upholstery has been fire-tested to sources 0 & 1 (EN 1021-1 & 2) and 5 (Crib-5).

All of our chairs are BS 7176 Certified, meaning they meet the British Standard requirements for a medium-risk fire environment. This includes private homes, offices and communal areas, including schools.

All of our upholstery has also undergone abrasion resistance testing... They exceeded 100,000 Martindale Rub Cycles. Anything exceeding 30,000 is suitable for the highest traffic areas.

All Hood chairs are BS 5459 certified, supporting users weighing up to 150 kg (23.5 stone) in 24/7 environments. Please note that chairs intended for use in a 24/7, multi-operator environment have their warranties reduced to 3 years due to increased wear and tear.

Our Height Adjustable HD Gas Stem, which can be added to specific chairs during configuration, increases the maximum user weight to 200kg.

The height adjustment feature on your chair is enabled by a gas strut (piston). Over time, this function can fail, resulting in a chair that won’t adjust in height or sink throughout the day. While frustrating, this issue can be easily remedied. First, check your chair’s warranty.

Still In Warranty? - Contact our sales team, and we’ll send you a replacement gas strut to fix the problem.

Out of Warranty? - You can still purchase a replacement gas strut from this store, which is far more cost-effective than buying a brand new chair.

Don't worry if the fabric house or colour you really want isn't included in our standard offering. It might be more expensive to produce a one-off chair with a 3rd-party fabric house, but our customer care team will be more than happy to review your request and provide feasibility and quotes, if possible.

This will depend on what items you have ordered. Each product page will have more information for you, but in short:

• Fast Track Items - If you order them before 2 pm, they can be delivered the very next day!
• Made To Order Items - Roughly between 7 and 14 working days to arrive.
• Fully Bespoke Chair - This one is a bit more difficult. It could take anywhere from 7 working days to 12 weeks.

If you order multiple items in a single order that fall into different lead-time groups, we will dispatch all items together (the longest lead time) unless you call our customer care team to request otherwise.
